Friends of ASCCA: Chad Shares About His Household Chores

Hey counselors and friends! In the summertime, a lot of us have more chores to do around the house. We have to help out our parents since we’re at home!

At home, I have a whole list of chores I’m responsible for. My daily chores include loading and unloading the dishwasher. Washing dishes by hand, making my bed, making sure the floors are swept and mopping, taking out the trash, dusting, and washing my laundry.

My weekly chores take a bit more time. They consist of watering the pants, more laundry, cleaning the bathroom, mopping all the floors, changing the bed sheets, wiping down surfaces, and cleaning the out of date food from the fridge.

Then there are the monthly chores — these take more time and effort. I have to deep clean the appliances, wash the windows, and sometimes take on bigger projects like scrubbing furniture or cleaning the carpets. They’re not my favorite, but they help keep the house clean and organized!

At Camp, we also help out to keep things clean. After every meal, the tables are wiped down, and you should help throw away your paper plates and cups. In the morning, you must make your bed. Before leaving an area for your next activity, be sure to pick up any trash. And at The Patio, make sure the trash is thrown away before heading to your first program rotation.
