Hey counselors and friends! The full-time staff are getting everything ready for us this summer! They’ve been working hard to clean and prepare the cabins. They also make sure the people mover is ready to haul us around camp. Jon Dollar, our Kitchen Supervisor, is making sure all special diets are accounted for before the summer begins. They’ll also need to figure out how many pizzas to order from Papa John’s for Sunday evenings!
The farm animals will be on their way to camp later this month from Frogeye Farms, and they’re getting ready to meet us too.
There are some exciting updates this year! The new activity I know about is the Pickleball court, which has replaced the old tennis court. Also, a new outdoor musical instrument area has been installed between the pavilion and Marc Roberts Lodge.

In the past, Delchamps Supermarkets supported Camp ASCCA by letting veteran summer staff decorate inside their stores to get everyone excited for camp. The checkout lanes spelled M-O-U-N-D-V-I-L-L-E, the Customer Service Center had a REDSTICK sign, the Deli/Bakery had a CREEK sign, the Meat Section had a CROW sign, and the Seafood section (Fisherman’s Cove) featured a CHOCTAW sign.
As summer approaches, there is some important information to keep in mind. Check-in takes place on Sunday from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM. A parent or guardian must stay with you for the entire check-in process. Check-out is on Friday at 9:15 AM. Parents must bring a photo ID and sign out in the pavilion with the nurses and medication staff. Health Authorization Forms must be signed by a parent and a medical professional (doctor or nurse practitioner) and submitted before camp. You’ll also be notified when it’s time to log in and complete the medical portion of the application.
