High 5 for Session 5: The Start

On Sunday, we welcomed campers and their families to ASCCA for Session 5 check-in. This session is kid week with camper ages ranging from seven to 21. Coming off of a busy teen week, staff was full of energy for the exciting week ahead.

Campers were walked to their cabins by parents and guardians to settle in. This is where they were able to meet and start the process of getting to know one another. When check-in was complete, everybody headed to the dining hall for our dinner. Every Sunday, we enjoy a pizza party of sorts with tons of delicious pizza for all.

Next, we headed to the gym for an intense game of Banana Olympics. Each cabin has a banana to protect with various types of armor like aluminum foil, pipe cleaners, etc. Then the bananas, and their cabin, go around to different stations to compete in Olympic games. This is always a great way to unite cabins for the long week ahead.

At the end of the games, campers and staff circled together, holding hands, singing the goodnight song for the first time. It was a great start to kid week and Session 5!
