Last night, we had our Session 6 dance! This week, the Camp’s theme is Mardi Gras, so all the campers went all out with their outfits. All around, there were beads, masks, and amazing outfits that showed the campers’ spirits. They made sure to follow the theme to a T, which made the dance so fun!
This week in arts and crafts, the campers had the opportunity to make masks to wear to the dance. They did not disappoint with these! There were so many different masks, and the creativity of each camper could be seen in them. They paired the masks with their outfits, which gave them the perfect finishing touch!
Upon entering, the campers walked down the red carpet and were handed beads and glowsticks. This is something we do at every dance so the campers can have a keepsake of the dance. After they entered, it was straight to the dance floor! The campers started dancing the night away and made sure to show everyone their awesome moves!
During the dance, DJ Tre played some amazing music that constantly kept the campers dancing. He mixed between fast and slow songs, giving the campers chances to dance with their favorite people at Camp! Throughout the whole night, the campers kept the energy up and didn’t stop dancing until the end!

This night was full of smiles and dance moves! We could not have asked for a better Session 6 dance, and this is definitely one we will remember! The dance is always one of the campers’ favorite parts of the week, and it is clear why. This night allows them to be authentically themselves, which is ultimately what Camp is about!
