As I sit down to write this final blog post of the summer, I’m overwhelmed with emotions. How do you sum up an experience that has shaped you in ways words can’t fully capture? How do you say goodbye to a place that feels so much like home?
This summer at Camp ASCCA has been nothing short of transformative. Serving as part of the PR team, I had the incredible privilege of documenting the laughter, the triumphs, the quiet moments of connection, and the big, bold celebrations. Every photo taken, every story shared, was a tiny piece of a much bigger, beautiful picture.
There’s something about this place that stays with you. Maybe it’s the way campers light up when they conquer the zip line for the first time. Maybe it’s the way staff pour their hearts into every activity, every conversation, making sure everyone feels seen and valued. Or maybe it’s the way the entire Camp ASCCA family comes together like no other community I’ve ever been part of.
This summer, I didn’t just capture joy, I lived it. I watched friendships form in an instant, witnessed bravery in small and big ways, and saw love in action every single day. And in the process, Camp ASCCA changed me too. It taught me the power of presence, the beauty of unfiltered joy, and the importance of a community that lifts each other up without hesitation.
I want say thank you to every camper who let me snap their picture, who shared their stories, who high-fived me after an epic dance move, or a victorious archery shot. Your courage, your laughter, and your authenticity inspired me more than you’ll ever know. You are the reason Camp ASCCA shines so brightly.
To the incredible team I’ve had the honor of working alongside, thank you for your passion, your dedication, and for making me feel like family from day one. The way you give your all to these campers is nothing short of extraordinary. You’ve shown me what true leadership looks like.
Leaving is bittersweet. My heart is full, but it’s also heavy knowing I won’t be here every day, soaking up the chaos and beauty of camp life. Still, I know this isn’t really an ending. Once you’re part of the Camp ASCCA family, you’re part of it forever!
Thank you for the memories, the lessons, and the love. This summer has been one of the greatest gifts of my life, and I’ll carry it with me always.
