Yesterday, Camp ASCCA had the sweetest treat at snack time! A Little Something Extra Ice Cream came to Camp yesterday and the campers absolutely loved it! They had so many options from popsicles to ice cream for the campers and staff to choose from!
A Little Something Extra is run by camper Jake York and his parents. A lot of the campers also work with them and can be seen on the ice cream truck! Once someone orders an ice cream bar or popsicle, Jake’s dad gets it from the freezer and hands it to him. Jake then gives the treat to the customer and gives them an iconic and cheerful “Enjoy!”
When the campers walked up to the Dining Hall and heard the music, they started grinning instantly. The campers were so excited to have this treat and were all smiles while eating the yummy items. It was so nice for the campers to have this to cool them down since this has been the hottest week of the summer. Just about everything was ordered off the menu because of the campers’ different likings.
Once the campers and staff got their ice cream, they went into the Dining Hall to eat it. Seeing all the campers enjoy their ice cream and talk with their peers was so special to see. You could see the pure joy and happiness in the campers eyes and that is why we have opportunities like this!
This was the sweetest treat on such a hot day! Our campers and staff had the absolute best time enjoying these treats and we loved this sweet experience! Thank you A Little Something Extra for coming to visit us and giving our campers these memories! This was the best way to cool off!
