On Monday and Tuesday nights, Camp holds a talent show for campers to show off their skills. These could range from singing to dancing, and the next thing you know someone is doing a body building routine.
During lunch, counselors lead their campers to sign up for the talent show where they pick what talent they will perform later that evening. They then go about their days, awaiting their moment to shine.

Night 1 consisted of tons of singing intertwined with simultaneous dancing. Campers had free choice to sing whatever they would like. We heard songs of all genres like Michael Jackson’s “Beat It,” Justin Bieber’s “Baby”, Luke Bryan’s “Country Girl Shake It For Me” and many more. Night 2 mainly highlighted campers’ voices but had one talent exception. Chandler and his counselor, Brayden, performed a body building routine to “Eye of the Tiger,” that grabbed everyone’s attention.
The talent show is more than just an opportunity to have fun. It gives campers the chance to leave their comfort zone in a trusted, safe environment where they feel supported. This allows them to gain confidence in themselves by stepping onto the stage with the sound of encouraging cheers. At ASCCA, our campers are talented and we think it important that they know it!
