Yesterday after dinner, we held our final dance of the summer. This week’s Western theme turned our normal dance environment into a hoedown throwdown. Campers and staff joined together in the basement of Lions Lodge to celebrate Session 7!

As the week progressed, anticipation grew for the last dance. When the time came, we knew the night was going to be one of the best yet of the session. Starting the night off right, DJ Tre hit us with some sick beats. He kept the country atmosphere, but with a bit of a twist. Every song was high-energy, keeping everybody on their feet dancing. They boogied the night away to hits like “Party in the U.S.A.” but kept it country with some of our favorite Red Clay Stray songs. We can’t forget about the fun train that kept chugging around the room, one camper after another!
Crazy moves turned into sweet moments that counselors and other staff will look back upon fondly. It was an amazing night that we never wanted to end. We stopped to smell the roses; to think about all of the beautiful times that campers exceeded the expectations of their ability. If there is one thing that we all can find joy in, it’s dancing, and that was definitely the case last night. Our ASCCA Honkytonk gave us many memories that we are already reminiscing!
