We had our annual Camp ASCCA Prom last night and it was a blast! Our campers absolutely loved getting to dance with their friends and enjoy the night with no worries! Between hype songs and slow songs, the campers left their whole hearts at the Prom and it could be seen by the end of the night!
The day started with both the boys and girls having days to themselves to spend time with each other. They got to chat, watch movies, and prepare for Prom while being around some of the best people! Boys and girls day is one of Camp’s traditions so it something so important for our campers! They practically talk about it all week and have so much excitement leading up to it.
The Prom festivities started with getting ready after rest period! The boys cleaned up their looks while the girls did their hair, makeup, and put their prettiest dresses on! After all the campers were ready, they went to go take their Prom photos. All the campers gathered with their dates and took all the photos they wanted before heading to dinner.
At dinner, the Dining Hall was transformed an amazing dinner was had. All the tables were rearranged and lined with black table clothes and decorations. For dinner, the kitchen staff prepared an amazing assortment being brisket, green beans, and scalloped potatoes. This was the perfect meal for the campers and staff before the night full of dancing and laughs!
After dinner it was time for the big night! The campers walked into an absolute wonderland for Prom. The basement of Lions Lodge was transformed into the perfect space for the night! The campers danced the night away to many songs and left everything the had on the floor. Of course we crowned a prom king and queen those being George Merchant and Alana Lovelady!
Our Prom was the perfect way to end Session 4! We had so much fun and could not have asked for a better night with our campers and staff. Having the chance to see the campers have this much fun and be so happy is something we would never give up!
