One of our most popular activities here at Camp ASCCA is our LPR! LPR are the initials for Peter Levy, Donald Perkins, and Glenn Roswal, three longtime donors and friends of ASCCA. This is one of the challenge by choice adventure activities we offer and continues to be a favorite among our campers every summer!
The LPR is an 800-foot-long that goes right over the Camp ASCCA pond. It gives campers a unique experience in riding a long zipline that gives them an amazing view! Once the campers are secured in their harnesses they walk up the hill to the take off platform. Once they are at the platform, the adventure staff hooks them up to the zipline and lets them fly!
Like everything else at ASCCA, this activity is also catered towards those with physical disabilities. We have special harnesses made for those who are in wheelchairs so they still get the fun opportunity to ride the LPR. Once they’re harnessed up, our Adventure Specialist, Tre, will strap them into a seat on the back of his golf cart and drive them up the hill. They get to be hooked up to the zipline and sent down once they’re at the top!
Many say while the LPR is the longest zipline we have, it is the least scariest one. This is because you do not have to be pulled up or climb to the top of a platform. You stay on ground until the second you’re in the air which gives the heart a more easy feeling. Also, the LPR does not feel like such a long ride since you zip right down the line when you’re riding.

The LPR is such a unique experience for our campers and is bound to continue to be a favorite for many summers to come! Seeing the campers’ smiles and excitement while riding this zipline is amazing and never gets old! We are so lucky to be able to give these campers this experience!
