This year, Session 3 at Camp ASCCA is extra special for our staff and campers! Last year, lightning struck the Dining Hall on the first day causing the entirety of Session 3 to be canceled. This was so sad for our campers and staff since this was the campers’ dedicated week to come to Camp. All the campers had to go home shortly after arriving meaning they did not get their ASCCA trip of the summer.
A lot of the campers that were at Session 3 last year were here at the same time again this year. Having this session go the full week and be so amazing was the best redemption for our campers. Seeing the campers have the best week and fulfill their dreams they have had since last year was so special for us. We know the campers were so upset when they had to leave last year so giving them the best experience we could was so important.
This week, the campers did everything from tubing to zipline. Obviously we cannot forget the talent show, dance, and concert which are always a hit with the people of ASCCA! They got to do so many activities, experience so much, and make so many memories. All week we got to see and hear how happy they were to be here and it made our hearts so full! Being able to give the campers the week they deserve was so exciting and rewarding.
This week truly felt like the best do over ever and we are so grateful for that. Camp ASCCA is such a special place and having to cancel Session 3 last year was so heartbreaking. With the same campers coming to Session 3 this year, we made it our mission to give them the typical week and more. It was definitely successful as all the campers could be seen smiling and having the time of their life all week.
We are so happy and thankful we got to truly experience Session 3 with these campers this week. It was so much fun to watch these campers grow bonds and make memories with their peers and the staff. We could not be more grateful for this week and we are so ready for Session 4!
